Guests and Residents Participate in Luncheon

A luncheon was held on January 19 in the Amos Towers Community Room to honor the Ronald Cabets as Volunteer of the Year.

Mr. Cabets, who was with Coopers Seafood House restaurant before his retirement, is a resident of Amos Towers.

Bridget Slagan, Coordinator for the Scranton Ronald McDonald House was the guest speaker and talked about the importance of volunteers in the community.  She said that without volunteer, many human service agencies in the community, including the Ronald McDonald House would be unable to continue operations.


Amos Towers is a senior high-rise located at 535 Jefferson Avenue in Scranton.  It was sponsored by the Amos Lodge of B’nai B’rith #136 and is affiliated with B’nai B’rith International, one of the oldest service organization in the United States.  Amos Towers is open to all persons regardless of religions affiliation.
